South Korea-based multinational chemical company Kumho Petrochemical is reportedly planning to add a new acrylonitrile-butadiene latex (NB latex) production line to boost its output by nearly a quarter million tonnes. The company, which is touted as the world’s largest NB latex producer, accounting for 30% of the market share, is said to be targeting to reach a production capacity of NB latex to 710,000 tonnes by end of 2021. The additional 240,000 tonnes from the planned project will further increase the output to 950,000 tonnes by 2023. Kumho Petrochemical is reportedly rolling out an investment of about US$226 million for this project. It is also said that more investments will be considered after 2023, depending on the demand.
