Kerala not excluded from rubber

The Rubber Board has clarified that Kerala and Kanyakumari district in Tamil Nadu, which are traditional rubber-growing areas in South India, would continue to receive subsidy for planting and replanting.

In a press note here on Wednesday, the Rubber Board termed ‘completely misplaced’ media reports that traditional rubber growing areas in Kerala and Kanyakumari have been excluded by the Rubber Board from the scheme of financial assistance for rubber planting/replanting.

“Financial assistance for rubber planting/replanting continues to be available for all regions including traditional and non-traditional rubber growing areas,” the Rubber Board release said. – The Hindu
