The Singapore-based International Rubber Study Group (IRSG), an inter-governmental organisation composed of rubber producing and consuming stakeholders, has recently announced the appointment of Salvatore Pinizzotto as its incoming Secretary-General.
Pinizzotto will officially take the leadership role in the organisation on January 1, 2017, at the end of the tenure of Dr. Stephen Evans, the current Secretary-General.
Having worked in the metals and non-ferrous metals industry for three decades, his strength and expertise in the commodities market will help bring new perspectives to the global rubber industry. His career has a strong international dimension with expertise in market research and analysis of environmental and economic trends on a regional and global basis.
Pinizzotto, having vast experience in functioning across the economic sectors with multinationals as well as governments and inter-governmental organisations, carries along with him strong and all-encompassing interpersonal skills and an entrepreneurial attitude that will identify opportunities and strategic approaches in these challenging times.
With his extensive years in leadership positions, Pinizzotto will have the opportunity to relate and transform both the natural rubber growing industry as well as the synthetic rubber industry.
