Indian Rubber Board renders awareness programme for rubber planters

Campaign 2014, an awareness programme on rubber plantation was conducted by Dimapur regional office of Rubber Board India, in association with Land Resources Department, Dimapur at Hevishe village, Niuland sub-division June 6.

The awareness campaign is conducted annually to sensitize the rubber growers on scientific and sustainable method of tapping and processing of superior quality of rubber sheet and measures while tapping.

At the programme, Rubber Board officials also gave a presentation on time and methods of fertilizer application along with practical demonstration on how to do tapping.

Rubber is grown in different pockets in Dimapur, Mokokchung, Peren and Wokha districts of the state.

According to sources of Rubber Board, climatic condition of the state is favorable for rubber growing and there is bright prospect for rubber industry.
