Hankook reveals new SUV and UHP tyres

Hankook

Hankook Tire Co., South Korea’s leading tyremaker, said Tuesday that it has released three new tyres that aim to meet demanding requirements of drivers.

The company said two types of tyres are for SUVs and the third is an ultra high performance (UHP) tyre, adding that all three showcase Hankook’s cutting edge know-how in this field.

It said the Ventus S1 evo2, which will reach South Korean consumers for the first time, has already proven its worth by being selected by BMW to outfit its X5 SUVs. The product made of silica compounds has excellent durability and low rolling resistance characteristics.

The Dynapro HP2 will target high-end performance SUVs with emphasis placed on the perfect balance between superb handling and breaking capabilities. The tyre comes with a center rib block that enhances its road grip in adverse weather conditions.

The UHP Ventus V12 evo2 is aimed at people who enjoy a dynamic driving experience and sporty performance, and comes with V-shaped threads that help with breaking at high speeds. The product also has “aero sidewalls” that can cut back on wind vortexes that have been cited for causing noise and vibration. This UHP Ventus V12 evo2 won the 2014 Red Dot award, a testament to the tyre’s excellent design.

Hankook Tire, which sells products to 180 countries around the world, said the new products will solidify its brand image as a global top-tier company.
