The Global Platform for Sustainable Natural Rubber (GPSNR) recently held its fifth Annual General Assembly, marking a series of significant milestones for the organisation.
Members voted in favour for five resolutions, of which two key resolutions were aimed at enhancing transparency and assurance in the natural rubber supply chains. The first resolution, building upon the feedback gathered from the Year 1 Reporting Review addresses the nuances identified in the preceding year, and aims to simplify data aggregation and augment the evaluation of progress on a year-on-year basis.
The second resolution on the development of the Assurance Model, which is designed to validate member companies’ adherence to their commitments, outlines a timeline, which includes aligning with current documents, implementing new processes, and initiating pilot tests and culminating in a final approval at next year’s General Assembly.
The General Assembly also celebrated a notable 10% increase in membership, recognised the remarkable contributions of its members through the GA Awards and witnessed the election of new executive committee members.
This year’s achievements highlighted that the success and transformative change in the rubber industry hinges on the engagement of every GPSNR member, partner, and stakeholder.
Through consistent member involvement, GPSNR says it reaffirms its pragmatic and unwavering approach to addressing the industry’s challenges, paving the way for continuous improvement and accountability in the natural rubber sector.
