US-based tyre major Goodyear has recently launched online sales of its tyres in Germany as the pilot market on European shores. German consumers can now choose to purchase tyres and schedule installation by a trusted local retailer through Goodyear’s official website. Goodyear further claims the new e-commerce platform will offer a seamless online shopping experience and enable incremental growth for local retail partners.
Consumers still have to pay the cost for tyre and installation online, but the company said it will gradually launch the service across Europe – Goodyear only launched its e-commerce platform in the US not too long ago, in 2015.
According to Frederic Schilling, Director, E-Commerce Channel, Consumer Europe at Goodyear, the new online programme “responds to the needs of consumers who prefer the convenience of online shopping.”
