This German team of four mechanics just obliterated the Guinness World Record for fastest wheel change, swapping all four wheels on a Ford Focus hatchback in less than a minute.
To be exact, it took the team just 59.62 seconds to perform the full change, using nothing but hand tools—and the kind of well-practiced choreography that inspires lazy writers to keep using tyred cliches about German precision.
The team, sponsored by German car parts supplier Kfzteile24 (just rolls right off the tongue, doesn’t it?), thoroughly squashed the previous record of 1:23.85. Which seems downright pokey by comparison.
Then again, these guys seemingly didn’t have to deal with seized, corroded, or heinously over-torqued lug nuts like most of us do when we find ourselves swapping wheels.
