First post-harvest rubber facility in the Philippines gets approval

bukidnonTHE REGIONAL office of the Philippine’s Department of Agriculture has approved the country’s first rubber post-facility located in Northern Mindanao for processing an estimated 1,000 hectares of rubber tree plantations in the area.

The Mindanao Rural Development Program’s (MRDP) affirmed the Php6.6-million, one-hectare rubber processing project located at Damulog, Bukidnon, which will primarily be benefiting the Poblacion-Old Damulog Farmers Association.

The rubber post-harvest facility is expected to be completed within one year, with the MRDP providing Php5 million for the rubber mill, building and administrative costs; and the project proponent investing Php1.6 million for the land, equipment and working capital.
