Specialty oils provider Nynas recently launched a hub in Singapore, making it faster to deliver its naphthenic specialty oils to customers and increasing their availability in the Asia Pacific region.

Now, customers in Shanghai, Indonesia, Thailand and surrounding countries can receive their orders in two weeks, compared to six weeks previously, says the company.

“The Singapore hub is an important investment to capture the growth opportunities in the region and to continue to offer our global customers a global product slate,” Regional Director Pascal Verhoie, Nynas Pte Ltd, said.

Meanwhile, Vice President for Naphthenics at Nynas, Simon Day said that this hub increases the company’s hubs to three (the other hubs are in Antwerp, Belgium, and in Houston, US).

“Previously, a blend of two base oils might require a specific delivery from Antwerp and would keep the customer waiting for about two months,” Day added.

The new hub in Singapore has a storage capacity of 32,000 cu m, thus increasing the variety of oil grades to be sold.

Aside from shorter delivery time, Nynas says the new hub will allow to produce tailor-made products on site. It adds that it will also increase the company’s resilience to meet unforeseen and sudden market demands.
