German chemical firm Evonik, together with the Egesil Kimya team, has obtained ISCC Plus certification for its precipitated silica plant in Adapazari, Turkey – its first certified silica site in the EMEA region. With this certification in place, the site has now begun commercial production of Ultrasil eCO, Evonik’s circular silica based on recognised mass balance standards.
Ultrasil?eCO expands Evonik’s global portfolio of certified circular silica solutions and enables tyre and rubber manufacturers to make their value chains more sustainable, it adds.
The certification was achieved through close collaboration between Evonik’s sustainability experts and the Adapazari site team, ensuring full compliance with ISCC Plus requirements.
It enables circular silica production at industrial scale in EMEA, enhances supply security, and further strengthens Evonik’s sustainable silica offering. ?
