Dr Mohd Akbar Md Said is now new Director General of The Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB).
Previously, he was the Deputy Director-General (Research & Innovation) responsible for MRB’s direction, planning and strategies of research and innovation. He also worked closely with the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities, the Malaysian rubber industry and other agencies. Dr Akbar’s expertise in research and development is related to latex harvesting technologies which include areas such as latex stimulant (chemical and bio-based latex stimulant, and gaseous stimulant) and low intensity tapping systems.
