Dow Corning experts will share their knowledge in a podium presentation featuring “in vitro and in vivo test methods to demonstrate the soft focus effect of silicone in an oil-in-water emulsion.” The presentation, from Anne-Marie Vincent, Dow Corning’s Beauty and Personal Care application engineering and technical service group, reviews the development of a testing protocol for screening and validating the wrinkle masking effect of materials combined with the demonstration of this benefits for selected Dow Corning materials such as E powder suspension and silicone resin wax.

In addition, we will present three posters on:
“Silicone film-formers: new approaches for measuring film barrier properties” – describes innovative methods to measure film forming flexibility, rub off resistance, integrity and water vapor permeability including performance results for 2 Dow Corning film forming technologies, silicone resins and silicone acrylates. Marc Eeman, Isabelle Van Reeth

“Silicones link sensory perception to functional benefits” – using new instruments and sensory methods, it was demonstrated how ultra high molecular weight PDMS emulsions and silicone resins and Silicone acrylates can play a critical role for enhancing the consumer perception of moisturisation and skin firming performance of a formulation. Isabelle Van Reeth, C.Bougaran, J. L. Garaud, S.Marchioretto, I.Vervier, J.Yang

“Developing leave-in conditioners using a new method for quantifying frizz” – using the new Dow Corning Frizz Index method, a high performing concentrate was developed to enable formulators to create water-based leave-in products with enhanced frizz control performance, less oily feel and more hair alignment for today’s consumers. Sylvie Bouzéloc, Giuseppina Lavinaro, Tatiana Dimitrova, Bethany K.Johnson, Cécile Coffy1, Feifei Lin

The theme of the congress, organized by the Société Française de Cosmétologie, is about Cosmetic Innovation and Performance for Beauty and well?being and will gather 60 speakers, over 400 posters and 30 technical sessions.
