GERMAN tyre producer Continental offers its new premium tread for cold retreading, the ContiTread.
The firm says that it is extending the ContiTread range, with an offering of ten new items for various segments and commercial vehicle classes.
The Continental LDR 1+ drive-axle tyre profile with the M+S label, available to Continental retreading partners for inner-city and regional haulage, as an economic alternative for light and medium-heavy trucks in the haulage tyre segment. It comes in five new sizes of 205/75 R 17.5, 215/75 R 17, 225/75 R 17.5, 235/75 R 17.5, and 245/70 R 17.5.
For winter tyres using the cold retreading process, Continental offers the drive axle profile HDW 2 Scandinavia with M+S label, available in size 315/80 R 22.5, and the winter tyre profiles HTW 2 for 385/65 R 22.5 and 385/55 R 22.5 for trailers and semitrailers. In addition, there are treads for the HTL 1 Eco Plus in sizes 385/65 R 22.5 and 385/55 R 22.5 for cold retreading trailer tyres.
All ContiTread treads are optimally designed for use with Continental casings, and also give very good results on casings of other premium manufacturers, according to the firm, adding that ContiTread is part of the modular ContiLifeCycle concept, where Continental supplies its customers with cost-effective service solutions throughout the entire tyre life, from new tires through regrooving, casing management, to retreading.
