Gripp-MX

With the community of motorsport professionals and enthusiasts sharply rising in India, CEAT is optimistic about its new offering. The new range of tyres is called Gripp MX and it’s specifically designed for motorsport. At the announcement of the launch at the Supercross League event held at Pune, CEAT claimed that these tyres have “superior grip characteristics and provide excellent handling” for dirt tracks and off-road purposes.

Riders around the world have worked with the company to help design the tyres for better performance on a racetrack. CEAT says that the rubber compound is specially formulated to ensure minimum cuts and chipping on the tread blocks, keeping riding comfort and grip intact during varying race conditions.

Prabhakar Tiwari, GM marketing, CEAT, said, “We are mindful of the extreme nature of motorsports, hence we have designed these tyres with CEAT’s trademark superior grip characteristics which will ensure the safety of riders while allowing them to extract the best performance from their bikes. The tyres are also designed to deliver high-speed stability to ensure our riders have the edge over competition.”

People in India are increasingly engaging in motorsport and taking it up as a hobby or a profession. Many cities such as Chennai, Delhi and Pune now have active racetracks, allowing enthusiasts to pursue their passion.

The Gripp MX will soon be available with authorised CEAT dealers in two sizes – 2.75-18 (front) and 3.00-18 (rear) and will come at a tentative price of Rs 1,500 for the front and Rs 1,625 for the rear. CEAT claims that these 18-inch tyres should fit most Indian racing bikes.
