Bridgestone Corporation’s subsidiary in China, Bridgestone (Shenyang) Tire Co., Ltd. (Shenyang Plant), will build a new manufacturing facility as part of its relocation project and is expected to be operational in 2014.
The Shenyang Plant, currently located in Shenyang City in the Liaoning Province of China, manufactures truck and bus radial tyres.
The facility will be relocated to Shenyang Chemical Industry Park, in accordance with Shenyang City development policies, which were revised following an urbanisation plan in the area surrounding the Shenyang Plant.
The new plant’s site was acquired in 2012, and has been approved for the construction of manufacturing facilities, including tyre production. The US$299.7 million investment for said project includes construction of the plant and production equipment. Production capacity at the Shenyang Plant is anticipated to be 5,000 tyres per day.
