Bridgestone aspires to be the absolute leader in the industry

Bridgestone Corp. wants to be the clear and absolute leader, or “dan-totsu,” in each industry in which it competes, according to its recently released outline for the Mid-Term Management Plan (MTP) for 2014. The eventual plan will serve as the Japanese company’s roadmap for 2015-2019.

According to the outline in the 2014 MTP, Bridgestone will continue to focus on three priorities identified in its 2013 plan; cultivating global corporate culture, developing human resources capable of global management, and upgrading its global management structure. As part of those focuses, Bridgestone will clarify its brand strategies, advance technologies and restructure its tire business SBUs, among others, the company said.
