US Wegmann Automotive secures Alligator tyre valve business

German-based Wegmann Automotive has successfully acquired the tyre valve division of Alligator Ventilfabrik (Alligator) and will take over the original equipment manufacturer’s European/North American sales and distributions operations for passenger car and heavy-duty truck tyre valves and components, as well as its car tyre pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) sensors and tools. While financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed,Wegmann Automotive said it will continue to use the Alligator brand name and that all manufacturing will remain at Alligator's existing production site in Europe.The Alligator North American distribution facility in Michigan will also retain all staff and continue its distribution operations. However, Alligator’s sales and ordering responsibilities will be carried out from Wegmann Automotive’s facility in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The Presidentand CEO of Wegmann Automotive, Jeff Waechter, said: "The high-quality products that Alligator delivers to the market are complementary to our existing offer, and through joint efforts of our combined teams, we will be able to increase the overall value we deliver to our customers.”
