Apollo Vredestein B.V. exhibited its new Wintrac xtreme high-performance winter tire at the International Tire Exhibition & Conference (ITEC) in Orlando Aug. 20-22.

The first tire to be developed in collaboration with Giugiaro Design, the Wintrac xtreme features a W-shaped tread with firm, aggressive lines and an innovative sipe technology, according to Vredestein. Optimum Silica Processing (OSP) technology was used for the tread compound, enhancing winter performance and wet traction and minimizing the chance for aquaplaning, the company said.
