Apollo presents new tyre brand for Indian LTs

India’s fast growing light truck (LT) vehicle category reportedly demands over 100,000 tyres monthly; from a spike in rural demand which is supported by improved logistics connectivity. As such, Apollo Tyres has launched EnduMaxx tyres, exclusively for the pick-up truck.

The company has adopted a 360-degree approach in the making of EnduMaxx tyres. Features of the tyre construction boast better build and durability, in addition to low heat build-up and higher uptime. After scrutiny at Apollo’s Asian R&D Centre in Chennai and production in Gujarat, the EnduMaxx LT tyres would be available for India’s Mahindra Bolero & Maxitruck, Ashok Leyland Dost & Dost+ and Tata Xenon & Yodha vehicles – Apollo is to supply the LT market with an estimated capacity of 80,000 tyres per month.

Satish Sharma, Apollo’s President (Asia Pacific/Middle East/Africa) explains: “We were looking at gaining leadership in the pick-up vehicle segment as well as the commercial vehicle segment. A cross-functional team comprising members from R&D, Manufacturing, Service, Business Quality and Marketing identified the gaps, which, along with our existing product experience, helped in developing the new product to suit the Indian market requirements. We are confident of gaining leadership in the pick-up vehicle segment as well with the EnduMaxx brand.”
