Apollo and Tata Power to introduce EV charging infrastructure in India

India’s Apollo Tyres has tied up with Tata Power to expand the country’s electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, with Tata to install charging stations at 150 of Apollo’s branded retail outlets, Commercial and Passenger Vehicle Zones (CV and PV Zones). Throughout the year, these Apollo-Tata EV charging stations will be open to the general public as well as customers visiting these tyre retail stores.

Tata Power has installed all types of chargers, including DC 001, AC, Type 2, Fast DC chargers up to 50kwh, and 240kwh chargers for buses, in all areas of the EV charging ecosystem. Based on location, this classification of chargers will provide EV charging for two-wheelers and four-wheelers, respectively.

Under the EZ Charge brand, Tata Power has built a comprehensive EV charging infrastructure with over 1000+ EV charging stations in over 200 cities and a digital platform to promote a simple and seamless customer experience. Customers can use this network of public EV charging stations to get creative and smooth EV charging experiences in places like offices, malls, hotels, retail outlets, and public access areas, allowing for clean mobility and reducing range anxiety. Public chargers, captive chargers, bus/fleet chargers, and home chargers are all part of the Tata Power EZ Charger ecosystem.

?Tata Power’s CEO and MD Praveer Sinha said that the company is “pleased to partner with Apollo Tyres for the installation of charging stations in their commercial and passenger vehicle zones” adding, “It demonstrates our commitment to developing and expanding the electric vehicle ecosystem in the country.”
