Although there will be tyres on the Bridgestone stand, the theme this year will be “Total Tyre Care – more than tyres”.
The range of services on show will be built around three pillars – Total Tyre Life, Total Tyre Services and Total Tyre Systems – and will include Bridgestone’s tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), breakdown services, tyre management and Bandag retreads.
Bridgestone’s TPMS is a simple retrofit system using intelligent valve caps that transmit pressure and temperature readings to sensors as the vehicle drives past a gate post or to a handheld reader. One major user – Arla – has seen a dramatic reduction in tyre wear and fuel consumption as a result.
The tyres on show will be the company’s new range of 295/80 regional steer tyres designed for the heavier axle loads associated with Euro-6 trucks. Bridgestone said that while there may be a trend towards 315/70 tyres for Euro-6 so far the mileage of these smaller tyres has not matched that achieved by conventional tyres. It will also have on show a new upgraded 385/65 trailer tyre, fuel efficient 315/70 steer and drive tyres and a range of LCV tyres and Bandag retreads.
To promote the new tyres, it will have a golf simulator on the stand where the longest drive each day will win a set of drive tyres.
