PAKISTAN-based General Tyre (Gentipak), producer of tyres for passenger car, light truck, truck/bus, tractor, rickshaw, and motorcycle, is setting up a manufacturing plant in the northern area of the South Asian country
Lt Gen (Retd) Ali Kuli Khan Khattak, Chairman of General Tyre said, during the company’s 50th year event, domestic tyre industry has earned enough export revenues, and this has buoyed it up through the challenging operating environment.
Gentipak is also exporting tyres to other neighbouring and Middle East countries.
He also said that Gentipak has contributed ab estimated Rs16.5 billion to national exchequer in the last three decades, adding further that all companies in the group contribute 2.5% of their profits to Wakf-e-Kuli Khan, a non-profit organisation, which provides free education to indigents.
Earlier, the firm had invested Rs500 million in motorcycle tyre production and plant upgrading.
