VIETNAM’s Da Nang Rubber Joint Stock Co has opened a 1.15 million sq ft radial truck tyre plant at Da Nang’s Lien Chieu Industrial Zone, with a yearly nameplate capacity of 600,000 units, and with jobs expected to reach 1,000 at full capacity.
Reportedly the first of its kind in Vietnam, the US$141 million plant includes equipment from suppliers in Italy, Netherlands and Germany, the company said.
It is also expected to contribute to the firm’s sales to nearly US$190 million, according to Da Nang Rubber, which sells under the DRC brand name.
The Da Nang-based tyre manufacturing and rubber processing company is majority owned by Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem).
