TYRE manufacturer Kenda Rubber Industrial Co is increasing its production capacity for car tyres by up to 50% to meet rising market demand, the company said during an annual shareholders’ meeting.
The company expects to hike up its output to 38,000 units a day by the end of this year.
For Taiwan, Kenda is increasing its capacity 4,000 car tyres a day, and for its new plants in Tianjin, and Shanghai, China, the expected increase will be placed at 5,000 and 2,500 car tyres a day, respectively, by the end of this year.
Currently, Kenda produces 22,500 car tires a day in Kunshan, China, and 4,000 car tyres a day in Yunlin, Taiwan.
According to Kenda, the new Tianjin plant is currently on trial operation and will become fully operational in July. The company has also opened a subsidiary in Europe to promote its brand and oversee marketing for the European market
