New harder tyre could up Mercedes’s F1 score

THE MERCEDES AMG Petronas team has struggled with their tyres during the first four races of the European F1 season. But taking on lessons from Pirelli’s harder compund tyres plus improvements in the car with the new tyre that is “is closer to the operating window of the medium,” according to racer Nico Rosberg, adding that the the old hard tyres suffered from heavy graining during the team’s winter testing.
