GERMAHY-headquartered ContiTech Air Spring Systems says it can now offer its customers in the commercial vehicle replacement business quicker delivery of rubber compounds, with its new plant in Nyiregyhaza, Hungary.
The Air Spring Systems business unit will also benefit from the compounds produced in-house. “Thanks to the ContiTech Compounding Technology business unit’s new compounding centre, we have gained greater planning and process reliability for the commercial vehicle replacement parts market. This will benefit our international customers,” said Dirk Hoffmeister, segment head of ContiTech Air Spring Systems.
ContiTech Air Spring Systems also benefits from the rubber compounds produced at the new rubber compound plant in Nyiregyhaza, Hungary. Air springs for commercial vehicles produced in Nyiregyhaza are destined for the global replacement parts market.
The products demonstrate ContiTech’s expertise as a partner to original equipment manufacturers, something that also benefits customers in the replacement business. They meet the very highest quality requirements and offer highly durable product properties. The plant in Nyiregyhaza focuses almost exclusively on the production of Phoenix air springs, which are specially tailored to the requirements of the replacement market.
The plant in Nyiregyhaza forms part of Phoenix Legrugro Technologia, which belongs to ContiTech. The air spring system production facility has a 220-strong workforce. Around 25 new jobs have been created in rubber compound production. This new investment is a clear signal of ContiTech’s commitment to this site in Hungary, now and in the future.
