THE Tamil Nadu Tyre Dealers Association (TNTDA) will be exhibiting at the upcoming Tyrexpo India to be held 9-11 July at the Chennai Trade Centre. This was announced by the show’s organiser, ECI International.
In support of the tyre show, TNTDA will actively promote visitorship of tyre dealers from all over Tamil Nadu and neighbouring States. The Association forms an important link between tyre manufacturers and dealers and end users of tyres. The Association will also interact with Government departments and institutions in addressing issues relevant to the tyre industry.
“We are delighted to welcome the TNTDA as exhibitors at Tyrexpo India,” said Paul Farrant, Managing Director of ECI International. “Their involvement in the show is excellent news as they represent the leading professional tyre businesses in the State. We look forward to working closely with the President, Mr Nirmal Singhvi of Raja Tyres, and his colleagues to make sure the event is a real success for members.”
Another important role of TNDTA is the end user education – including motorists and commercial drivers plying the roads daily. This aims to build awareness of the use and application of tyres, helping to maximise tyre efficiency and performance while reducing un-necessary tyre wear and tear.
Meanwhile, another exhibitor dedicated to maximising tyre performance and environmental benefit will be the Indian retreader, Tyresoles. CEO Mr Rajesh V. Shetty said the company will be using Tyrexpo India to seek joint venture partners across India who are interested in establishing or upgrading their retreading operations.
Of particular interest to Tyresoles is the fast-growing market for radialisation in the truck, bus, OTR and LCV sectors. At present TBR radials account for just 10% to 15% of India’s huge commercial vehicle and bus market, but industry estimates suggest an additional 25% manufacturing capacity in the short term. That will lead to a greater focus on retreading as radial carcasses are better suited to the process.
“We feel that Tyrexpo India will provide the ideal forum for the retreading industry to come together and gear up for future challenges. Radialisation is catching up faster in in the truck, bus and LCV segment and Tyresoles wants to create a major impact in radial tyre retreading, hence our interest in talking to prospective joint-venture partners at the show,” commented Shetty.
Elgi, another major player in the Indian retreading market, will be exhibiting at the show. Headquartered in India but with international subsidiaries in Australia, Brazil, Kenya, the Netherlands, Sri Lanka and the US, Elgi manufactures a comprehensive range of raw material, equipment, tools and accessories used in the rubber industry.
At Tyrexpo India a wide range of Elgi products will be showcased, including brands such as Jet tyre retread and repair systems, Pincott rasp blades, hubs and spacers, carbrasive carbide tools, Midwest Rubber and Ecorr reclaimed rubber.
