GERMAN Automotive components manufacturer, Schaeffler, has introduced a concept car that has higher fuel efficiency for India.
The company has upgraded an already existing B segment car with drive train features, which is claimed to help reduce fuel consumption by 10%. ,
The technology, which had undergone testing in Germany, could be applied across a range of cars, said Joydeep Roy, President(Automotive) of Shaeffler India, and Managing Director of the INA Bearings and LuK.
According to Dharmesh Arora, Managing Director and CEO, Schaeffler India, the company is also developing new concepts and technologies for the two-wheeler and commercial vehicle segment. “Our recent innovations include low-friction bearings and new range of clutches for motorcycles in India,” he said.
Shaeffler provides rolling bearing and plain bearing solutions for linear and direct drive technology; and supplies precision products and systems for engines, transmissions, and chassis applications for the auto industry.
