According to Kraton, Cariflex is an ideal substitute for natural rubber that can be used for high performance medical applicatons, including catheters, tube connectors, needle shields, probe covers, and cohesive bandages. Devoid of impurities, Cariflex neither discolours nor causes allergic reactions and possesses the high tensile strength and tear-resistance of natural rubber latex but not as capital-intensive.
At Medtec, Kraton product experts will discuss Cariflex’s features and why it is an ideal alternative to natural rubber for applications that require purity, high-level of protection, comfort, and quality. A growing trend for medical devices to be non-allergenic, comfortable and resistant from contamination is urging device manufacturers to utilise materials, such as Clarifex that meets the above basic criteria.
