Farrel Pomini, a member of HF Group, has acquired a majority ownership of WF Recycle-Tech, increasing its stake from a minority ownership position established in 2021. This acquisition further strengthens the companies’ collaboration and accelerates the global commercialisation of WF’s patented tyre pyrolysis technology.
UK-based WF pioneered a proprietary, patented pyrolysis system for recycling end-of-life tyres. The system utilises Farrel’s continuous mixer to process end-of-life tyres into valuable outputs such as recovered carbon black and oil, supporting circular economy initiatives and sustainable materials development.
By moving to majority ownership, Farrel says it is reinforcing its commitment to advancing sustainable solutions for the global rubber and plastics industries. The increased ownership position enables global support to grow the technology and accelerate adoption worldwide.
Jo Dennis, Managing Director of WF Recycle-Tech, commented: “Being part of the HF Group organisation allows us to leverage a strong global support network, deep technical expertise, and long-term investment commitment. This partnership significantly strengthens our ability to scale our pyrolysis system and deliver solutions to customers around the world.”
“Ian Wilson, Co-CEO of HF said that by combining the patented pyrolysis process with Farrel’s technology expertise and HF Group’s global infrastructure, the companies will be able to address the challenge of end-of-life tyre recycling.
In 2010, Harburg-Freudenberger Maschinenbau GmbH, Farrel Corporation and Pomini Rubber & Plastics Srl integrated to form HF Mixing Group. A year later, Farrel Pomini was established to focus expertise in the continuous mixing equipment sector.
As separate companies, Farrel Corporation and Pomini Rubber & Plastics Srl possess over 100 years of collective experience in the polymer processing industry.
In 2024, HF Mixing Group and HF TireTech Group merged to form HF Group.
