Datwyler streamlining US network; to close one facility

Swiss supplier of system-critical components Datwyler is streamlining its US production network as part of its transformation program. Operations at the Vandalia site in Ohio will be transferred to two existing locations in California and Ohio. The site will close by the end of September 2025.

It adds that this decision follows a thorough review of the company’s Industrial Solutions footprint and supports efforts to improve efficiency, leverage synergies, and strengthen long-term competitiveness. Customer service and delivery reliability will remain fully ensured during the transition.

Datwyler acknowledges the impact on the around 70 employees at Vandalia. A few roles will be retained within the company, while comprehensive support will be provided to affected employees throughout the closure process.

The measure is part of its transformation program, launched in December 2024, which focuses on four key areas: production network optimisation, commercial excellence, product portfolio streamlining, and establishing a future-ready operating model. Implementation across all areas is progressing as planned.

Costs related to the US site consolidation were included in the 2024 transformation provisions, and resulting savings will support future earnings improvements.
