Full-service provider of turnkey systems with 12 subsidiaries worldwide, solution provider and plant manufacturer Zeppelin Systems has opened a modern 5,000 sq m premises at the competence centre in Reggio Emilia, Italy.
Together with Nuova Ciba, which was acquired in 2018, Zeppelin Systems says it has been active in the Italian market for many years and is now reaffirming its commitment with the inauguration and opening of new, modern premises.
In addition to expanding its production capacities, the company is also pooling its expertise for the tyre and rubber industry, the plastic and polyolefin industry and the food sector.
In order to optimally serve the needs of its customers, Zeppelin Systems has steadily expanded its range of services in the rubber and tyre segment in recent years. In 2018, the Zeppelin Group acquired 100% of the shares of the Italian company Nuova Ciba S.p.A.; plant manufacturer Zeppelin Systems thus underpinned its expertise as a global full-service provider of turnkey systems for the production of rubber compounds. The next milestone in the expansion and further development of the Italian market in the rubber and tyre, food and polyolefin sectors is now imminent:
“The new premises in the Reggio Emilia industrial estate are a benefit for our customers, our suppliers and also our employees. They are very conveniently located, as we have excellent connections via network of motorways as well as the high-speed train line between Rome, Bologna and Milan,” explains Marco Ferrari, Managing Director of Zeppelin Systems Italy.
And he continues: “Our customers will benefit from the even faster availability of spare parts, among other things, as we are also introducing a new warehouse system.”
The new facility serves as a centre of competence for three business lines, underlining the diverse portfolio of plant engineering expert Zeppelin Systems. Also, the investment in Italy is a commitment and statement of the Zeppelin Group, believing in the vast potential and future prospects of the Italian market.
Customers from the rubber and tyre sector will be supplied even better in future from the newly created competence centre in Reggio Emilia and the new premises will also provide Italian customers from the food industry with a modern and innovative contact point where they can obtain advice from experienced experts, it adds.
Ralf Boschert, Managing Director/CFO of Zeppelin Systems GmbH, added at the inauguration of the new premises: “As with all our buildings and premises, sustainability is an important factor for us. That’s why we installed solar cells on the roofs when we remodelled the building. The electricity generated is sufficient to autonomously supply the offices and production facilities in Reggio Emilia.”
The remodelling work at the new site took around six months. From Reggio Emilia, the company will in future not only serve customers from the tyre and rubber industry, but also from the food and polyolefin sectors.
