Global Rubber Industries Pvt Ltd (GRI), a specialty tyres manufacturer in Sri Lanka has opened its latest rubber collection centre in Buttala in the Monaragala District, as part of the company’s Green X Circle initiative.
GRI jump-starts 2021 with outreach initiatives, capacity expansions
Launched in 2020, the Green X Circle connects the natural rubber (NR) farmer who provides the raw material for the production of specialty tyres, and the crop farmer, who is the end-user of the agricultural tyres produced by GRI. “Through this initiative connectivity and collaboration are fostered between the two farming ecosystems while placing emphasis on sustainability principles,” GRI stated. It has also announced its collaboration with the Rubber Research Institute for providing training for NR farmers.

Meanwhile, GRI has been tapped to supply its Ultimate XT premium plus solid tyre to the Kion Group in Germany for its Linde OEM forklifts. Kion is the largest manufacturer of forklift trucks and warehouse equipment in Europe.
