More than 112,000 Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) settlers received a windfall through six main incentives announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak when tabling Budget 2018 at the Dewan Rakyat.
Najib, who is also Finance Minister, said the incentives included the Settlers Special Incentive of RM5,000 which was announced on July 23 and reimbursing the cess money that had been paid by settlers for the replanting scheme from rubber to oil palm from 2010 to 2016.
“This will benefit 8,925 Felda settlers with an allocation of RM43 million.
“In addition, a sum of RM60 million will be provided for oil palm replanting programme,”he said.
Najib also announced an allocation of RM164 million to build 5,000 Second Generation Felda Homes in collaboration with Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad (SPNB).
