DAVIS-STANDARD, LLC has assigned Fred Pereira as President of Asia. The addition of Pereira is an integral part of the company’s plan to increase its presence in China and throughout the region. Davis-Standard will open a facility in Suzhou, China, which will be operational by the end-2012.
Pereira brings more than 30 years of business experience throughout Asia, working in various segments of the plastics industry including chemical and engineered materials, specialty additives, packaging, product development and manufacturing. Most recently, he served as vice president and general manager of the Global Fleet and Architecture division of Avery Dennison, Inc. in Shanghai, China. Prior to Avery Dennison, Pereira held leadership positions for Alcoa, Inc., Honeywell, Inc., and ICI Industrial Chemicals.
Pereira will lead efforts to expand regional capabilities in sales, service and process support to better serve current and prospective customers. Davis-Standard also plans to establish a strong procurement and manufacturing team in the region that will report to Pereira. His responsibility includes oversight of the new 4,300-square-metre facility in Suzhou.
Earlier this year, Davis-Standard indicated a strong move toward further involvement in Asia when the company hired Preston, who also brings extensive international business experience having held leadership positions abroad for Eastman, Allied Signal and Johnson Electric.(PRA)
