Momentive Performance Materials Inc. will launch CoatOSil DRI waterborne silicone at the American Coating Conference in Indianapolis, IN, April 12 to 14. CoatOSil DRI waterborne silicone can act either as a co-binder or additive in latex systems and Dr. Ping Jiang will present a paper discussing how this new product can help water-borne systems reduce water uptake and improve UV resistance.
Momentive will also be highlighting CoatOSil T-Cure silane oligomer. Dr. Dmitry Chernyshov will share results from the use of CoatOSil T-Cure silane in polyurethane coating systems. This mercapto silane with its unique structure possesses a very low odor and the opportunity to make use of the difunctional (diol) leaving group in polyurethane cure chemistry. This can lead to coating formulations with improved hardness development, corrosion resistance and adhesion to galvanized metal.
Dr. Chernyshov will present during the Polyurethane Technical Session 6.5 on April 12, 2015 from 11:30am to 12:00pm and Dr. Ping will present during the Novel Materials Session 12.1 from 2:00pm to 2:30pm
