The Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) elected Gary Garfield to serve as the Chairman of the Board of Directors and Anne Forristall Luke as its new CEO.
Garfield is CEO and president of Bridgestone Americas, Inc. (BSAM). Garfield succeeds Pete Selleck, chairman and president of Michelin North America, Inc., who served as RMA Board Chairman since 2013. Garfield was elected in October at the RMA Board of Directors meeting and will serve a two-year term.
Luke has more than 30 years of Washington government relations, public affairs and executive leadership experience in both the public and private sectors. Before joining RMA, Luke served as vice president, political and public affairs at the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), the trade association for off-road equipment manufacturers and suppliers operating in the agricultural, construction, forestry, mining and utilities industries.
Luke will officially begin January 1, 2016. She succeeds Charles Cannon who is retiring from RMA after nearly eight years.
“RMA is poised to enter a new era of growth as investments in the U.S. by tire manufacturers continue,” Garfield said. “Continued public policy challenges on environmental, safety advocacy and other matters will continue to be a focus of the association.”
