Germany-based Wacker Silicones has appointed Norway’s Lindberg & Lund Group to market its products of room-temperature-vulcanizing silicone rubber grades in Finland, effective March 1, 2015. Meanwhile, in Sweden, ABIC Kemi AB, (which is now part of the Lindberg & Lund) have retained their rights to market Wacker Silicones products.
As a result of the reorganisation, Lindberg & Lund will obtain a larger portion of the distribution business, allowing it a key role in the sale of room-temperature-curing silicones in the Nordic region.
Swedish speciality chemicals distributor ABIC will act as a regional hub and distribute products to neighbouring Scandinavian countries, including Denmark.
High-consistency silicone rubber compounds that cure at room temperature are called RTV silicones. They are distinct from high temperature-vulcanizing (HTV) grades. These products are suitable for bonding, sealing and encapsulating, as well as for manufacturing hard-soft composites. RTV grades are highly versatile and are used in various industry applications.
Wacker Silicones is one of the largest silicone manufacturers worldwide with over 3,000 highly specialized and innovative products.
