The Bluestar Silicones poster was honored with the Best Technical Poster Award at the Airbag 2014 symposium. Bluestar Silicones sales and technical teams participated to the last edition of Airbag 2014 Symposium with a technical poster that highlighted the benefits of silicones in airbag cushions. Bluestar Silicones’ technical team commented its recent findings in silicone technologies for fabric coating during the poster session, on December 2. Silicones have been used on airbag textiles for years, as they help provide reliable thermal protection to cushions, and a durable and controlled inflation performance.
Last generation products have demonstrated exceptional compatibility with polyamide and polyester fabrics, while enabling more flexibility in processing, including faster production speeds. In addition to the poster session, Bluestar Silicones announced an investment plan to reinforce its presence on the Asian airbag market. This plan includes a significant step up in capacity of its Shanghai manufacturing plant, in line with dedicated research and development capabilities in China and South Korea.
