Pirelli tyres has scored well in test results carried out on its Cinturato range by leading European publications, according to Tyres and Accessories.
Russia’s largest motoring magazine tested the Cinturato P1 in size 185/60 R14 against 14 competitors from Nokian, Continental, Hankook, BF Goodrich, GT Radial, Cordiant, Amtel, Toyo, Bridgestone, Yokohama, Nexen, Barum and Contyre. Pirelli tyres came out on top and Za Rulem commented that it benefit from “efficient braking on any type of surface, super-precise controllability, low fuel consumption and a low level of noise.”
The tyres were fitted on a Lada Priora and Za Rulem carried out a comprehensive series of tests, including braking on both dry and wet asphalt, lane-changing on dry and wet asphalt, as well as roadholding and hill-climbing. Other factors, such as fuel consumption and acoustic comfort, were also taken into account. Za Rulem’s road testers summarised the Pirelli Cinturato P1 by saying “anyone who appreciates handling will like them.”
There were more plaudits for Pirelli tyres in Sweden where the Cinturato P7 finished runner-up in a recent test conducted by Aftonbladet, a daily newspaper with nearly a million and a half readers. The newspaper, which again tested all the market leaders, concluded: “The Pirelli tyre has good traction on both wet and dry roads and resists aquaplaning very well. The steering is very fast and accurate, and it is easy to cope with an evasive manoeuvre.”
