World Rubber Summit 2020 to be held in Abidjan

The start of the year 2020 has been eventful with the onslaught of the Coronavirus in China and globally, as well as an expected slowing global economy, against a 3% growth in 2019, the lowest since the financial crisis before moving to the next decade.

Against this backdrop, the World Rubber Summit 2020 co-organised by Singapore-headquartered International Rubber Study Group (IRSG) together with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Cote d’Ivoire as Strategic Partner, will be held from 4-6 May 2020 at the Sofitel, Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.

The theme for the conference this year is “Unlocking the Potential of the Rubber Economy: Pathways to Growth in the Next Decade.”
Certainly, the rubber economy is at a crossroads, with mature and emerging markets facing challenges to embrace disruptive innovations, climate mitigation and digitalisation to pave path for a sustained and inclusive growth in 2020 and beyond.

Sustainable mobility and advancements in health sector underpinned by social, economic and technological trends demands identifying opportunities compatible with transformation offering solution than products.
