Hankook Tire launched a self-sealing tyre called Ventus Prime Sealguard. The tyres have a viscous material coating, which closes on its own even when punctured up to 5mm deep.
The tyre maker announced the Ventus Prime Sealguard in the Frankfurt Motorshow, along with saying that the tyres will be the original equipment (OE) tyres on the new Volkswagen Touran.
“We are proud to announce that Hankook Tire will successfully begin to supply its Ventus Prime² SEALGUARD to Volkswagen’s compact Touran MPV as our first self-sealing tyre OE contract, thus further strengthening our longstanding relationship with the Volkswagen Group.” said Ho Youl Pae, head of Hankook Tire Europe. “Based on our proven state-of-the-art technology, we will further diversify our SEALGUARD OE business in the future.”
