Sri Trang Ayeyar Rubber opens new plant in Myanmar

Last October 11 2015, executives from the Thai-based company Sri Trang Ayeyar Rubber attended the grand opening of its new rubber factory in Myanmar.

The company is located in city Mu Dong District Mawlamyine Republic of the Union of Myanmar and will have a capacity of 4,800 tonnes of rubber per year.

Executive Director Veerasith Sincharoenkul sees value in the new plantation. “Rich in both natural rubber and manpower,” Veerasith said, “Myanmar has high potential.”

The company operates about 30 rubber factories in Thailand, Indonesia and Myanmar. According to Veerasith, it plans to increase its combined production capacity from the current 1.5 million tonnes per year to 1.6 million tonnes by the end of 2016.
