Nordstrom’s Automotive Inc. is planning a large expansion at its operation near Garretson.
The almost US$4 million project will allow year-round access to the business with a new resurfaced and paved road. The project includes a 40,000-square-foot expansion, renovation and retrofitting to bring a more efficient, centralized and modern operation.
The business was started on the family farm of Art and Marie Nordstrom in the late 1960s. Owner Shannon Nordstrom and his parents lead a team of more than 70 employees.
The business serves automotive professionals and do-it-yourself’ers with all aspects of automotive repair from mechanical parts, collision parts, repair services and repairable vehicles.
Nordstrom’s operates a certified auto recycling facility and offers recycled used parts, OEM surplus parts, re-manufactured and rebuilt parts, and alternative aftermarket parts to customers from across the region. An online business draws international customers.
The building will integrate sustainable features such as geothermal heating and modernized lighting. It’s scheduled to be done next year. – Argus Leader
