Dow lends PU binder solutions to Swiss Olympic Museum

Dow’s patented polyurethane (PU) binder technology has been used in completion of an interactive running track exhibit at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland. The project also features Kraiburg Relastec’s floor covering, which together provides optimal hardness and elasticity for safe running.

The durable technology, designed for enhanced performance on various sports grounds while reducing the risk of serious injuries, was used in the Olympic Stadium’s running track during London’s Olympic Games in 2012. According to Dow, quality EPDM rubber used in the product improves the material’s natural ability to absorb impact and its toxin-and-additive-free formulation contributes towards sustainable use of recycled rubber materials.

Mohammed Sami of Dow’s EMEAI industrial marketing segment said the Olympic Movement is grounded in partnerships and product/programme innovations. As the Official Chemistry Company of the Olympic Games, and Official Carbon Partner of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Dow aims to deliver innovative solutions to its stakeholders and customers, which includes the IOC’s new headquarters in Lausanne – Olympic House – to be inaugurated in June 2019.
