US-based Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. (Cooper Tire) has recently launched the RM258 WDTM winter tyre to its Roadmaster truck tyre lineup. The new winter tyre features several accents which makes it Roadmaster’s “best performer in the snow and other adverse conditions for regional operators.”
The tyre has a new tread pattern and curb guards, coupled with enhanced compounding, to ensure overall performance, including when hitting curbs as well as while on the interstate. A deep tread (26/32nds-inch) along with full-depth 3D siping in four rows of lugs help the tyre connect with the road for improved traction.
Tie bars in the shoulders keeps the tread from squirming and helps with uniform wear, while stone ejectors in the tread grooves help keep small rocks from drilling into the casing, improving casing life. The tyre features also four steel belt construction, which allows for multiple retreads.
Cooper Tire said the RM258 WDTM carries the industry’s Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake certification for winter traction and comes with a six-year, two-retread warranty. It is available in 11R22.5 and 11R24.5 sizes with load range H.
