Japanese aerospace and ground transportation manufacturing company Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd., known for its line of Subaru automobiles, has selected Japanese tyre maker Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd. to provide the original equipment tyres for the automaker’s all-new Subaru Impreza.
Yokohama has already begun supplying the Advan Sport V105 tyres for the new Impreza in Japan and Australia, and the Avid S34 tyres for the units in North America. The tyre sizes are 225/40R18 88W in Japan and 225/40R18 92W in Australia for the Advan Sport V105 tyres, and P225/40R18 88V for the Avid S34 tyres.
The new Impreza was launched in Japan on October 25, with overseas launches planned to follow sequentially. In addition, the Yokohama emergency flat-tyre repair kits are installed in the new Impreza units to be sold in Japan.
The Advan Sport V105 was developed for high-power premium cars and delivers excellent driving performance combined with superior comfort and safety characteristics.
The Avid S34 is an all-season passenger car tyre that contributes to higher fuel efficiency while also providing superior drivability and safety. The tyre was developed by applying the basic design and materials technology used in Yokohama’s BluEarth global tyre brand, which is based on the concept of “environmentally, human and socially friendly”.
The fifth-generation Impreza, which was designed to deliver the ultimate “enjoyment and peace of mind” driving experience, employs many new technologies, including the completely revamped Subaru Global Platform architecture.
The new Impreza provides drivers with greatly enhanced comprehensive safety performance and a dynamic yet stable sensation.
