Yokohama Tyre Corp. is recalling certain Yokohama RY023 tyres, size 295/75R22.5 (14-ply, G load rated), that have a DOT date code of 2318. The estimates up to 529 units may be affected.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) says the tyres are being recalled because their rubber compound may be incorrect, possibly resulting in the tread separating from the casing. Thus, these tyres fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 119.
Yokohama has notified owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the tyres, as necessary, free of charge. The NHTSA Campaign Number is 18T016.
