Japanese company Yokohama Rubber Co. has been awarded the 2012 3R Promotion Council Chairman’s Award for their Tire Materials Development Department.
The award is sponsored by the 3R Promotion Council or the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Promotion Council.
Yokohama was chosen to receive the award due the company’s way of using recycled rubber in its production. The company has designed a new technology to allow recycled rubber power, which usually has large grains, to be used in different compounds which resulted to an increase in the recycled rubber.
This is the fifth award that Yokohama received from this sponsor. (RJA)
